Titanium Plating and Major Stamina
Hurray, patch 3.0.8 is finally here, and with it comes new toys!
First up is Titanium Plating, which is made by a Blacksmith. As currently listed on WoWHead, they require exalted with either Horde Expedition or Alliance Vanguard and can be made with 4 Titanium Bars and 4 Eternal Shadow.
Grants +40 Shield Block Value which is very nice!
In addition, a new Bracer enchant is being added as well.
Formula: Enchant Bracer – Major Stamina – Permanently enchant bracers to increase Stamina by 40. Another very nice level 80 tanking enchant!

The new bracer enchant was sorely needed in my opinion, so it is a very welcome change.

Someone please tell me how good the 40 block rating is compared to the 20 defense I usually get.
On the bracers, I’m still thinking the 15 expertise is better than another 400 health. I’m at 30K unbuffed already so whats another 400?

well.. block rating for your block set shield… defense for your raid shield. as for the 400 hp… id rather take this then 15 expertise.. remember some bosses hit for 20k+.. id hate going splat on those even more if i enchanted my raid set for dps/threat instead of getting every bit of hp / avoidance i can get.

The issue with Titanium Plating IS NOT Bock Rating,..It is Block Value.
Block value = damage mitigation + threat.
With Bladeward or life drain on weapon = win.

I think I know the answer but thought I’d check….I assume the Titanium Plating on the shield replaces enchantments/shield spikes and you can’t have both?
