Yesterday we went over some of the new items that will be available in Zul’Aman with patch 2.3. Today we’ll talk about drops from the big boys of Zul’Aman, Hexxlord Malacrass and Zul’jin.
Hexxlord Malacrass drops a nice head item, [item]Battleworn Tuskguard[/item], which in my opinion is on par with the crafted [item]Helm of the Stalwart Defender[/item], and comes close to the Tier5, [item]Destroyer Greathelm[/item]. It is much better than [item]Eternium Greathelm[/item] and [item]Warbringer Greathelm[/item]. Of course, who cares about helms when you could have this wonderful trinket? [item]Tiny Voodoo Mask[/item]
Zul’jin brings us a few nice items. We get not only a trinket, and a breastplate, but a nice new tanking axe as well! [item]Ancient Aqir Artifact[/item] is a very nice trinket. [item]Chestguard of the Warlord[/item] is a marvelous chest piece, beating out pretty much everything short of Black Temple, Tier6 drops. If this chest were in the game when I was working on blacksmithing, I would have gone with another profession in a heartbeat, as in my opinion it handily beats [item]Bulwark of Kings[/item]. [item]Cleaver of the Unforgiving[/item] is a lovely tanking axe, having more DPS, more stamina, and a gem socket over [item]King’s Defender[/item]. Being an orc, with axe specialization racial (albeit getting nerfed in 2.3), I would really like to acquire this beauty.
All in all, the armor drops from Zul’Aman are heavy on Shield Block Value and Rating, which I like. There’s also more blue gem slots, allowing us to gain the socket bonus on more pieces of gear that we only slot [item]Solid Star of Elune[/item].
There are many items here that should keep you frothing over running Zul’Aman for long to come
